What you’ll be responsible for


Managing the end to end process, from design, to procuring a contractor and ensuring the installed assets are to the required standards. To enable you to do this, you will need to work collaboratively with colleagues across the business, providing advice to our customers and keeping them informed of progress.

With your technical and project management skills you will ensure that our interests are protected at all times and that risks to our Customers, Services and the Environment are minimised. This will include:

  • Assessing and processing of ‘requisition’ and diversion applications for water supply and sewer networks, within a specified geographical area.
  • Ensuring applications are reviewed in accordance with the relevant standards and the appropriate processes are adhered to within regulatory timescales.
  • Liaising with the Operations Department regarding network information and points of connection for water requisitions and diversions.
  • Preparing design drawings showing the network layout and highlighting the general and site specific risks.
  • Managing the sewer requisition process (through others), from design to completion.
  • Ensuring that our record system is updated to reflect most recent information at each step in the process.
  • Monitoring and reviewing scheme costs to ensure that schemes are completed within budget and any additional costs are recovered.
  • Undertaking all project closure procedures ensuring that all financial and technical duties are completed.
  • Achieving timescales for job elements as delegated by the Senior Delivery Manager to achieve the overall scheme National Levels of Service.
  • Complying with current health and safety legislation and policies at all times during the execution of all activities.
  • Inputting into, and participating in, monthly reporting and reviews.
  • Complying with processes and procedures at all times during the execution of all activities.
  • Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

About you

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • A civil engineering background with a degree or equivalent
  • Experience within the water or construction industry
  • Experience of extensions to potable water networks and water main diversions
  • Good project management experience
  • Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work to tight regulatory and project deadlines


Good to know

The working hours are Monday - Friday 37 hours per week.
