We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Cardiff to assist with the appointment of a Street Scene Enforcement Officer, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £13.73 - £18.11 per hour

Summary:

The Street Scene Enforcement Officer plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and environmental standards of Cardiff. The officer is responsible for monitoring compliance with waste management regulations, encouraging responsible waste behavior through education and outreach, and undertaking enforcement action when necessary. The role combines community engagement, environmental law enforcement, and field-based investigations to ensure the city remains clean, safe, and sustainable for all residents.

Responsibilities:


  • Enforce legislation related to waste presentation and storage, littering, fly-tipping, abandoned shopping trolleys, and dog control.

  • Issue fixed penalty notices and formal legal documents to address environmental offenses.

  • Educate residents and businesses on correct waste disposal, recycling responsibilities, and local environmental regulations.

  • Support community events and campaigns to promote environmental awareness and good waste management practices.

  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of enforcement actions, inspections, and public interactions.

  • Prepare written reports and input data into the Councils management systems for audit and legal purposes.

Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.

Essentials:



  • Experience working in an enforcement, regulatory, or inspection role.

  • Experience engaging with the public in a front-line or advisory capacity.

  • Full UK Driving Licence (if required for mobile working).

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.

  • You should have right to work in U.K

  • This role requires a basic DBS
