BBC Radio Wales is the national English language radio station for Wales. At BBC Radio Wales we are passionate about creating radio which sits at the heart of Welsh life. We entertain our listeners while informing and educating them – but we want to go further than that: we’ll surprise our audience, delight them – not just sometimes, but every day.

We’re home to a diverse range of output including our weekly worship slot, Celebration, and our award-winning religious affairs programme All Things Considered. We also make content for BBC Radio 4 including Sunday Worship, Prayer For The Day and The Daily Service .

You'll come up with imaginative and compelling programme ideas in a wide range of styles and formats (including worship) which you'll see through to completion as an active member of highly engaged programme teams.

With an ear for stories and content that resonates with our audiences, you'll have a good sense of the social and political context of Wales.

The ideal candidate will have hands on experience of live studio production and have demonstrable experience of working with and directing both new and established presenters.

You’ll embrace the BBC’s digital development plan and ensure content is delivered to the highest standards on all digital platforms including BBC Sounds and social media.

You’ll have an interest in and knowledge of news and current affairs, the Radio Wales playlist and popular culture, as well as general knowledge and an understanding of the culture of Wales.

  • Strong journalistic mind-set when it comes to speech content, the ability to pinpoint the heart of an issue and have confidence in intelligent questioning
  • Highly-developed planning and organisational skills
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
