Ready to make an impact?

At Serco, our ambition is to create a better future by addressing the needs of governments, authorities, communities, businesses, and citizens. This vision has driven us to build a best-in-class employment, skills, and training business, aligned with growing government commitments to employment, adult learning, and apprenticeships.

Employer engagement, skills, and training are key priorities for Serco in the UK, as we strive not only to be a leading provider but also to deliver renowned services and solutions that support our partners and training providers in achieving their goals.

Serco Employment Skills and Training (EST) offers a comprehensive, place-based employability and skills service that can be tailored to government departments, local areas, employers, and citizens.

As a Resourcer, you’ll be responsible for screening and candidate engagement for roles and training opportunities sourced by the Strategic Account Managers (SAM) and Account Managers (AM).

You’ll work closely with the SAM and AM to ensure candidates meet specific requirements and contribute to effective vacancy/ opportunity fulfillment, aligning candidate skills and readiness with employer needs, enhancing placement success, and supporting Serco’s EST objectives.

You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Screen candidates for roles and training opportunities, assessing qualifications and skills to ensure suitability to employer needs.

  • Provide constructive feedback, advice, and guidance to candidates to prepare them for interviews, training, and job expectations.

  • Collaborate with SAM and AM to understand opportunity requirements and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a steady stream of suitable candidates/learners.

  • Engage with and build relationships with SAM, AM, and candidates to ensure satisfaction throughout the recruitment journey. Provide feedback on application status, including areas for improvement and available training resources.

  • Maintain candidate engagement and readiness for future opportunities if they are not suitable currently.

  • Record candidate screening outcomes and progress accurately in RITA. Track screening metrics, report on volumes, pass rates, and use data to identify trends and improvements.

  • Gather and apply feedback from SAM and AM to refine screening processes and improve candidate quality.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, role requirements, and emerging skills to assess candidate/learner suitability effectively.

  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance screening efficiency and effectiveness.

Does this sound like you?

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

  • Proven experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or candidate screening, preferably in high-volume or employability environments.

  • Knowledge of skills and qualifications across various roles, industries, and training programmes.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with candidates and assessing suitability.

  • Excellent organisational skills to manage high candidate volumes, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with CRM systems and recruitment software for data management and reporting.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently or as part of a team, while achieving targets.

  • Understanding of the skills and employability sector, including current trends and challenges.

  • A professional, flexible approach, maintaining confidentiality and high standards of quality and accuracy.
