Job Description Product Support Technician Location Cardiff CF LT :


We are looking for a Product Support Technician to provide technician support for engineering products and projects conducted on time, within budget and with the required level of quality.


The successful applicant will:



  • Assist in the maintenance of legacy products by providing design engineering support for drawing, BOM, manufacturing and material changes as required to meet defined device and manufacturing requirements.

  • Build and evaluate concepts and prototypes to demonstrate the product performance, manufacturability, material selection, safety and cost are consistent with the customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Raise, coordinate and manage engineering builds to facilitate design and manufacturing changes.

  • Develop test protocols from defined test methods in order to generate reliable and regulatory compliant data during design verification events.

  • Perform physical, electrical and simulated use testing and inspection and evaluation of medical devices to provide evidence supporting their design verification.

  • Assist in the creation of formal Bill of materials and release through Product Lifecyle Management (PLM) system

  • Support project teams, process engineering and other engineering personnel in product design development originating or editing project documentation to meet or exceed customer, company and project needs

  • Work within timelines and cost estimate for development tasks and appraise management of performance against plan to maintain compliance to project schedule

  • Generate and review design history file documentation in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Quality System Regulations (QSR), International Standards Organisation (ISO) and company Product Development Process (PDP) requirements throughout the project life cycle to ensure the design is fully documented.

  • Work in accordance with Company Quality Standards, procedures and processes and comply with the requirements of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).


Education / Qualifications:


  • Higher National Certificate/Diploma or equivalent calibre in Science, Engineering or Technology discipline.

  • Ability to think logically and creatively and possess sound report writing skills
