Mechanical Fitter (Temp to Perm)



Cardiff



£15.31 - £16.86 per hour depending on experience



Temporary to Permanent (12-week temp, permanent offer after 9 weeks if successful)

39 hours per week Monday to Friday DAYS ONLY!



The Role:



We are looking for an experienced and motivated Mechanical Fitter to join our team. This role involves repairing and maintaining a range of industrial rotating equipment, including AC & DC motors, motorized gearboxes, pumps, fan units, generators, and other associated machinery. Work is split between 80% workshop-based repairs and 20% on-site servicing



Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Fitter:



Diagnose faults, dismantle, and repair industrial equipment

Test, inspect, and service motors, pumps, and gearboxes

Handle a wide variety of components, from small fan units to large-scale industrial motors

Provide clear fault reports and relay findings to management

Occasionally travel to client sites using a company vehicle (site work experience & CCNSG passport advantageous)

Maintain high health and safety standards



Requirements for the Mechanical Fitter:



City & Guilds Engineering Qualification



Mechanical Fitter Experience



Previous experience stripping down pumps, motors, gearboxes



Understand technical drawings
