The position will be based at Cardiff Arms Park and various locations throughout the Cardiff Rugby region. The nature of the position can require travel as and when dictated by the needs of the organisation.
The training schedule demands flexibility including travel. This is a full-time role, however the nature of the position also requires that timings of work may vary.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) To support the delivery of the academy physiotherapy services
b) To assist delivery of physiotherapy needs of the academy and developing squad players under the guidance of the Academy Lead Physiotherapist.
c) assist the Academy Lead Physiotherapist with daily assessment / treatment
d) Working to an appointment system for player soft tissue and physiotherapy treatment.
e) To assist with the weekly recovery services for Academy squad
f) Ensure the physiotherapy treatment room is kept in an impeccable manner, with all appropriate equipment and bedding sanitised and hygienic.
g) Assist in the delivery of Cardiff RFC matchday services at home and away fixtures as required.
h) Deliver small group mobility / Pre-habilitation sessions under the guidance of the Academy Lead Physiotherapist
i) Deliver 1:1 rehabilitation sessions under the guidance of the Academy Lead Physiotherapist
j) Data entry to enable consistent correlation against incidence of injury under the guidance of Academy Lead Physiotherapist daily.
k) Support on injury management and rehabilitation of the academy players
l) Support with staffing provision for the Cardiff Rugby Academy, Cardiff RFC and age grade teams under the support of Head of Medical Services / Academy Lead Physiotherapist
m) Support match day physiotherapy services for Cardiff Rugby RAG & Cardiff RFC matches under the guidance of the Academy Lead Physiotherapist
n) Support Deliver physiotherapy provision for Cardiff RFC training sessions
o) Support Deliver physiotherapy provision for Cardiff Rugby RAG teams
Experience, Skills & Qualifications Essential
A qualification at degree level (Bsc/Msc) in Physiotherapy
Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) as a Chartered Physiotherapist and registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
An understanding of the various sports science and medicine disciplines
Knowledge of physiotherapy and rehabilitation methods related to recent advances in musculoskeletal medicine in the sporting environment.
Desirable
Fulfilment of the WRU / RFU ICIS Pitch side Trauma management course.
Relevant experience in a sporting environment
Full Drivers Licence
