This is a Hybrid role, working from our Cardiff Offices 3 days per week
What You'll Be Doing
We're looking for a QA Engineer to join our team! You'd be responsible for both manual and automated testing as well as contributing to best practices throughout the SDLC working closely with our Software Engineers and Product Managers to provide governance and oversight of the quality of the products we develop. We're also big on running POCs to help improve various aspects of QA so there's plenty of interesting work to get stuck into! You be:

What You'll Be Doing
We're looking for a QA Engineer to join our team! You'd be responsible for both manual and automated testing as well as contributing to best practices throughout the SDLC working closely with our Software Engineers and Product Managers to provide governance and oversight of the quality of the products we develop. We're also big on running POCs to help improve various aspects of QA so there's plenty of interesting work to get stuck into! You be:
- Contributing to the ongoing development of automated test scenarios working as part of an agile team
- Driving continuous improvement, recommending and implementing enhancements to test processes and procedures.
- Investigating user problems referred to you by the Product teams, testing bugs, and creating and managing bug reports.
- Developing a strong understanding of the products and domain to perform hands-on testing from a technical standpoint.
- Supporting your engineering colleagues so that testing is a team-wide responsibility
- Prioritising tasks and workload in a fast moving environment - good sense of urgency resourcefulness and independence
- Managing risks and issues effectively with timely escalation to the project stakeholders
- Reviewing design proposals, acceptance criteria and processes, and recommend improvements.
Required skills:
- Proven software quality assurance experience with a focus on both web and mobile applications
- Experience developing tests for functional and regression testing that include manual, automated, performance and ad-hoc testing
- Pragmatic when raising bugs and have a good understanding of risk, impact, dependencies and how to balance these
- Understand the full E2E impact of changes, considering these in the QA strategy and approach
- Experience with C# is preferable (or similar OOPs languages)
- Experience with JavaScript/Typescript
- Experience in using testing tools and frameworks such as, Selenium Webdriver, RestSharp, PostMan, Appium, xUnit, NUnit, etc
- Experience working with and testing REST APIs
- Experience working across multiple teams.
- Understands CI/CD concepts and implement continuous testing practices
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing
- Understand the concept of checking against testing, strong knowledge of exploratory testing.
- Bias for action and problem solving - eagerness to take initiative and make things happen
- Proficient in SQL Server queries and scripting experience.
- Previous exposure to Microsoft Azure DevOps
- Experience with usability best practices; able to influence and improve user experience
- ISTQB certification desirable
- Experience of working in a fintech company.
