Join a respected multidisciplinary consultancy in Cardiff, where you’ll take ownership of infrastructure designs that shape sustainable, resilient places to live and work. As Principal Civil Engineer, you’ll take responsibility for the technical delivery, quality and commercial performance of a diverse project portfolio. You’ll work hands-on with design while guiding and developing a capable team. What You’ll Do
- Take the lead in designing civil infrastructure projects, with a focus on drainage, highways and sustainable solutions
- Manage quality assurance, technical standards and on-time delivery across multiple live projects
- Mentor and support junior engineers, encouraging high performance and professional development
- Oversee resource planning and project finances, working closely with senior leadership
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, local authorities and utility providers
- Ensure adoption processes and statutory approvals are handled efficiently and professionally
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- At least eight years of post-graduate experience, ideally in a consultancy environment
- Chartered status (or equivalent experience and capability)
- Proficiency in drainage and highways design, including adoption procedures
- Working knowledge of MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- UK driving licence
- Experience with client management or Welsh language skills would be advantageous
