Description

As a Financial Controller, you'll oversee all aspects of the region’s accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. This role offers both strategic and hands-on responsibilities, supporting our growth across the UK and Europe.

We seek finance professionals who are analytical, detail-oriented, collaborative, adaptable, and proactive. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong ethical judgment, clear communication, and a mindset geared towards continuous improvement. Success involves managing competing priorities, building cross-functional relationships, and fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and mutual respect. A growth mindset, curiosity, and mentoring skills are essential.

If you enjoy working collaboratively within a global finance team and can provide leadership, operational excellence, and accurate financial insights to support high-level decision-making, this role may be suitable for you.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  1. Lead accounting, treasury, audit, and tax reporting for the UK region.

  2. Manage month-end close and consolidation for UK entities.

  3. Supervise a team of four handling general ledger, A/R, A/P, payroll, financial reporting, and GAAP compliance.

  4. Maintain internal controls and enforce corporate finance policies.

  5. Coordinate external audits and ensure corporate tax compliance.

  6. Provide accurate financial data to support global FP&A activities like forecasting and budgeting.

  7. Lead, mentor, and develop team members to ensure professional growth and departmental alignment.

Qualifications for Success

  • Proven experience as a Controller or similar senior finance role, preferably with IFRS expertise.

  • Knowledge of UK statutory audits, tax requirements, foreign entities, and currency matters.

  • Strong understanding of UK & international accounting standards, Companies House regulations, and tax laws.

  • Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and system integrations; NetSuite experience is highly desirable.

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills to influence across functions.

  • Willingness to be strategic and hands-on, actively involved in daily accounting operations.

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).

  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and deadline orientation.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, ideally in private equity-backed settings.
