Role description:
As an Arboriculturist, you will join our 50-plus strong ecology team, which has over 20 years of experience undertaking a full range of ecological and arboricultural surveys and assessments, as well as providing advice on masterplanning, mitigation, enhancement design, ecosystem services, and natural capital assessment.
As part of our Environmental team, you’ll help improve quality of life. Your work could involve protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality, or noise, especially in some of the world’s busiest and most beautiful locations.

Role accountabilities:
As an Arboriculture Consultant, your responsibilities will include:
- Applying your expertise by conducting surveys and producing reports to help improve quality of life sustainably.
- Undertaking BS 5837 2012 Arboricultural surveys and producing related reports, AIAs, and AMSs.
- Occasionally conducting climbed surveys to inspect potential bat roosting features.
- Providing general advice on Arboricultural issues.
- Completing arboricultural projects and advising clients.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Holding a suitable qualification (e.g., FdSc Arb, BSc, Technician’s Certificate in Arboriculture, or related field) and membership of the Arboricultural Association or the Institute of Chartered Foresters.
- Knowledge of BS 5837 2012 Tree Quality Surveys and experience in preparing Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Method Statements.
- Experience in tree condition surveys, BS 5837 surveys, reporting, and writing reports suitable for planning applications.
- Understanding of health and safety issues related to site surveys and supervision.
- Desired: LANTRA Professional Tree Inspector Certificate, CS38: Accessing a Tree with Rope and Harness, Aerial Rescue, experience with database asset management software, and assessing trees for bat roosting potential.
