Main Duties
- Unleash the power of data to transform the business landscape with cutting-edge statistical, machine learning, and AI techniques
- Dive into the ever-evolving data science landscape, continuously exploring innovative concepts and keeping up to date with latest industry advancements
- Collaborate with a dynamic team to streamline model deployment
- Champion the power of data science at Admiral, inspiring members of our data community to harness our data’s potential and maximize the impact across the business
- Partner with business leaders within our Claims areas to harness the transformative power of Data Science and help identify future opportunities and priorities
- Support your team's growth by actively participating in the development of more junior colleagues, sharing your expertise to drive the team forwards, and contributing to a thriving and impactful data science environment.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- 2+ years Data Science experience.
- Experience with developing and maintaining Machine Learning models and using Machine Learning techniques to create business solutions.
- Coding experience in Python and SQL.
- Stakeholder engagement and interaction.
- A natural problem-solver.
Desirable:
- Insurance domain knowledge.
- Knowledge of LLM’s.
- Use of software development tools and version control systems such as GIT and knowledge Dev Ops practices.
- Experience of thinking about the wider impact of ML models and techniques on the customer and what considerations to put in place.
- Passionate about making a positive difference in the workplace and beyond, with a knack for understanding the big picture through data.
- Great at talking data with anyone, from technical to non-technical audiences, and turning numbers into compelling stories that drive action.

Location
The role is a hybrid role with an expectation to attend our Cardiff office twice a week. Once on a specified team day and the other day to be chosen at the discretion of the successful candidate.
