Our Grocery Service Centre, based near Liverpool, is a hub for transactional activity across multiple ABF companies within the ABF Grocery division. Supporting some of our well-known brands such as Kingsmill, Pataks, Blue Dragon, Jordans, Ryvita and Silver Spoon, amongst others. We deliver Shared Service activities across a wide range of disciplines including Customer Services, Consumer Care, Finance, Payroll, HR and IS.

What You’ll Do

As a Despatch Operative, you’ll be a key part of our operations, ensuring the safe and efficient handling and distribution of daily orders. Your role will help us deliver fresh, high-quality bread and baked goods to homes and businesses every day. Key responsibilities include:

  • Safety First: Proactively report hazards and collaborate with colleagues to maintain a Zero Harm workplace.
  • Order Fulfillment: Pick, load, unload, and manage products with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Adaptability: Take on various tasks across the despatch operation and embrace learning new skills.
  • Performance Excellence: Achieve targets using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other performance tools.
  • Standards Compliance: Maintain a “clean as you go” approach, contributing to internal and external audits.
  • Team Collaboration: Build strong relationships with teams across the site to ensure seamless operations.

  • Experience in a warehousing or distribution environment.
  • PC literacy and familiarity with WMS systems.
  • Strong numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.

  • External FLT licenses (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong customer and quality focus.
