Operational Risk Manager
Cardiff | Financial Services | Hybrid Working (following training)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operational Risk Manager to join a growing and forward-thinking financial services organisation based in Cardiff.
This is a key second line of defence role, where you'll provide independent oversight of operational risk, support a strong risk culture, and ensure regulatory expectations are met across the business.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and develop the Operational Risk Framework
- Review and challenge Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs)
- Monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and operational risk events
- Support business continuity and operational resilience activities
- Produce risk reports and dashboards for senior management
- Work closely with stakeholders across Risk, Compliance and the wider business
- Support regulatory reporting and governance processes
- 5+ years' operational risk experience within a UK regulated financial services environment
- Strong knowledge of FCA/PRA regulations, Operational Resilience and SMCR
- Experience producing risk reporting for senior stakeholders
- Excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with GRC systems and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau would be advantageous
- Relevant professional qualifications are desirable but not essential.
