The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Welsh-speaking Business Services Support Officer to join a respected public sector organisation based in Cardiff.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, customer-focused individual who enjoys working in a varied and people-facing role. You'll be a key member of the Business Services team, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the office while providing professional support to colleagues, visitors, and stakeholders.
The position offers flexibility, excellent training, and the opportunity to secure a permanent role within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing inbound calls and operating a bilingual Welsh and English switchboard
- Welcoming visitors and acting as a professional first point of contact
- Supporting office facilities and day-to-day business services activities
- Assisting with administrative and operational support tasks
- Managing enquiries and directing them appropriately
- Supporting business processes and internal systems
- Working closely with colleagues across the organisation
- Prioritising workloads and responding effectively to changing demands
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be confident communicating in both Welsh and English
- Have excellent customer service and communication skills
- Be friendly, approachable, and professional
- Have good organisational and administrative abilities
- Be comfortable using IT systems and learning new processes
- Be adaptable, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities
- Enjoy working as part of a team while also being able to work independently
Previous experience within administration, office support, reception, facilities, customer service, or a similar environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

Working Pattern
This role is contracted to 26 hours per week. Hours can be worked flexibly to suit both business and personal commitments; however the successful candidate will be required to attend the Cardiff office on four days per week, with one day working from home.
