Procurement Manager - #2134429

We are delighted to be working with this successful and growing business. Having invested in new systems and upgraded its IT infrastructure, the organisation is now looking for a talented Procurement Manager who is highly organised, process-driven and keen to make an impact.

You will have the appetite to improve processes and take ownership, with a good grasp of supplier relationships, contracts, negotiations and pricing. You’ll be confident working across different departments, building strong relationships and getting into the detail to find answers and resolve issues.

You will report to an approachable and supportive senior finance leader who genuinely encourages development, new ideas and professional growth. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for autonomy whilst still having the support of an experienced manager.

The Job

• Oversee procurement activity, including supplier relationships and performance.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing and commercial terms with support from your manager.
• Analyse company spend and identify savings and efficiencies.
• Manage approved suppliers and ensure robust procurement controls.
• Work closely with Operations, Finance, brokers and external business advisers.
• Manage and develop a small purchasing and purchase ledger team.

The person specification

• Strong procurement, purchasing or supplier management experience.
• Commercially astute with good negotiation skills.
• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
• Able to manage a busy and varied workload.
• Strong systems skills, including MS 365.
• Confident managing contracts and supplier performance.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Previous people management experience is highly desirable.

Salary & benefits

• Up to £50,000 - £55,000 for an exceptional candidate.
• Hybrid and flexible working - minimum 3 days per week in the Cardiff office.
