Due to continued investment in their estates and compliance function, they are seeking a Compliance Maintenance Officer to support the delivery of statutory compliance and maintenance programmes across their estate.

Your new role
As a Compliance Maintenance Officer, you will support the planning, scheduling, delivery, and monitoring of statutory maintenance and compliance activities across a varied estate. Working closely with senior estates and compliance professionals, internal stakeholders, and external contractors, you will help ensure all statutory obligations are met and maintained to the highest standards.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM), statutory inspections, testing programmes, and compliance activities.
  • Assisting with compliance across fire safety, water hygiene, electrical safety, gas safety, lifts, asbestos, pressure systems, and access equipment.
  • Maintaining compliance records, certification, and reporting systems, ensuring accurate audit trails.
  • Monitoring contractor performance and supporting service delivery reviews.
  • Producing compliance reports, KPI data, and management information for senior stakeholders.
  • Working alongside Health & Safety, Estates, and Facilities teams to support risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Supporting compliance with CDM Regulations and statutory maintenance requirements.
  • Assisting with audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting emergency response and reactive maintenance requirements when required.
  • Contributing to a positive health and safety culture while delivering excellent customer service to staff, students, visitors, and stakeholders.

The role will also involve participation in an on-call rota to support emergency situations and out-of-hours work where required.
What you'll need to succeed
Essential:

  • Experience supporting statutory compliance, planned maintenance, and condition improvement programmes within an estate, facilities management, or property environment.
  • Working knowledge of statutory compliance requirements across multiple asset types.
  • Experience monitoring contractors and service providers.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience maintaining statutory compliance systems and records.
  • Working knowledge of CAFM systems.
  • Understanding of health and safety legislation, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and sustainability initiatives.

Desirable:

  • Membership of, or working towards membership of, a recognised professional body such as IWFM, IHEEM, or IET.
  • Experience working within an educational organisation, public sector, healthcare, or similarly complex estate environment.
  • NEBOSH or IOSH Health & Safety qualification.
  • Experience developing and improving compliance processes and asset management procedures.
  • Welsh language skills.
