Description
- Lead and deliver audit assignments from planning through to completion.
- Design and perform audit procedures in line with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and firm methodology.
- Identify, assess and document audit risks while applying professional scepticism and sound judgement.
- Review financial statements for compliance with applicable accounting standards, including UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Supervise, coach and develop junior team members, providing ongoing feedback and support.
- Review work completed by associates and ensure high-quality audit documentation is maintained.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key day-to-day contact throughout engagements.
- Support audit planning activities, including scheduling, resource allocation and client meetings.
- Monitor budgets, timescales and engagement progress, escalating issues where appropriate.
- Coordinate with specialists and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of audit engagements.
- Prepare and contribute to client deliverables, including audit planning and audit findings reports.
- Stay current with changes in accounting, auditing and regulatory requirements and communicate relevant developments to clients.
- Ensure compliance with risk management, ethical and quality control procedures.
- Support the wider growth and success of the audit practice through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Profile
A successful Assistant Manager Audit should have:
- A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Previous experience in auditing within the professional services industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- An organised and detail-oriented approach to managing tasks and deadlines.
- The ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
