Essential Criteria for both roles:
- Hold a recognised Internal Quality Assurance award (D34, V1, IQA, TAQA L4).
- Experience of Assessing Health and Social Care Apprenticeships.
- Must hold occupational competency in Health and Social Care.
- In depth knowledge of Estyn Inspection requirements
- Full, clean, UK driving licence and use of a vehicle.
For the Lead IQA:
*Ideally candidates will have experience of managing a team of IQA’s, organising standardisation visits and allocation of IQA workload*
- To lead, motivate and develop the IQA team - ensuring high-quality performance and continuous improvement - to meet KPIs and improvement of QARs.
- Ensure all quality assurance practices meet the requirements of awarding organisations, regulatory bodies, sector standards and relevant internal verification guidance.
- Ensuring effective management of systems, processes and quality assurance activity to support timely learner achievement.
- Coordinate and undertake assessor observations, using outcomes to identify development opportunities and drive improvements in assessment practice.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of appropriate resources and learning materials to support a broad range of vocational programmes and learner needs.
- Coordinate quality assurance activity across sectors, including standardisation meetings, sampling and verification, ensuring consistency and effective sharing of good practice.
- Develop and implement robust sampling and verification plans that support learner progression, achievement and consistent assessment decisions.
- Establish, monitor and review individual and team KPIs, performance objectives and targets to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular team reviews and appraisals, setting clear objectives and supporting individuals to achieve their full potential.
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of Health and Social Care Assessors, ensuring a high-quality learner experience and achievement of KPIs.
- Monitor and evaluate assessor performance, reporting to the Lead IQA and working in partnership with the Performance Manager to identify development needs and implement targeted improvement plans.
- Promote effective engagement between Assessors and workplace employers, ensuring employers are appropriately involved throughout the learner journey.
- Lead sampling and verification activities to ensure consistency, strengthen assessment practice and improve learner progression and achievement.
- Coordinate and participate in EQA visits, ensuring schedules are maintained, portfolios are fully prepared and evidence meets the required standards, contributing to successful and positive outcomes.
