About the Opportunity
A brilliant opportunity for a Graduate or Assistant Building Surveyor who is looking to build their career within a major multidisciplinary consultancy, with structured APC support, varied project exposure and clear long-term progression.

This organisation of international acclaim is looking for a Graduate / Assistant Building Surveyor to join their Wales team, working within an established Building Surveying practice that delivers across public sector, private sector, education, defence, central government and infrastructure clients.

The role would suit someone working towards Chartership who wants broad technical exposure rather than being kept in one narrow lane. You would be supported through a structured APC programme, regular technical training, an assigned Supervisor and Counsellor, and access to industry-leading digital tools and methodologies.

There is a fantastic mix of professional surveying, project work, client exposure and career development. You would be joining a collaborative, multidisciplinary team with the backing of a global consultancy and the chance to develop properly as your experience grows.

Responsibilities of the Role
This is a varied Building Surveying role with exposure across a number of sectors and project types. Responsibilities are likely to include:

  • Undertaking condition surveys, measured surveys, defect diagnosis and technical due diligence
  • Preparing professional reports, schedules of work, specifications and technical drawings
  • Assisting with Project Management and Contract Administration across a range of sectors
  • Supporting pre- and post-contract activities under JCT and NEC forms of contract
  • Working with multidisciplinary teams on refurbishment, maintenance and small-to-medium capital projects
  • Contributing to sustainability, building safety and statutory compliance work
  • Supporting quality assurance, CPD, knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement across the team

About You
This will suit an ambitious early-career Building Surveyor who wants strong APC support, varied experience and the chance to develop within a well-established consultancy environment. You will ideally bring:

  • A RICS-accredited Building Surveying degree, or equivalent qualification
  • A genuine interest in working towards MRICS or equivalent professional membership
  • A developing foundation of building surveying knowledge, gained through placements, internships, graduate schemes or post-graduate experience
  • Awareness of building pathology, design and construction processes, statutory compliance and project delivery
  • Some exposure to refurbishment, extension or maintenance projects would be useful
  • An understanding of CDM 2015, the Building Safety Act and standard forms of contract such as JCT and NEC
  • Microsoft Office skills, with AutoCAD, Revit or digital surveying tool experience are advantageous

What's on Offer?
This is a strong platform for someone who wants to develop properly as a Building Surveyor, with structured professional support, varied clients and the opportunity to build confidence across both technical surveying and project delivery. The package includes:

  • Salary and benefits package that stands out at this level
  • Structured APC support from the outset, including an assigned Supervisor and Counsellor
  • Regular technical training and professional development opportunities
  • Exposure to a broad client base across public and private sectors
  • Hybrid working, flexible holiday allowances and a strong benefits package
  • The chance to grow within a world-leading design, engineering and project management consultancy

Ready?

If you are an early-career Building Surveyor looking for proper support towards Chartership, this is worth exploring. You would be joining a major multidisciplinary consultancy with varied work, strong training and a clear pathway to keep developing your technical, professional and project delivery skills.
