The opportunity
Premiere FS Ltd, part of the Mortgage Advice Bureau network, is looking for an experienced Protection Adviser to join its growing business.
The company operates from newly refurbished premises in a prominent position on Treorchy High Street and has an established client bank developed over approximately 20 years.
You will work closely with the mortgage team to provide customers with suitable protection advice, while also reviewing the existing client bank for new and ongoing protection opportunities.
This is a self-employed position offering a financial retainer, a competitive commission split and uncapped earning potential. You will have complete flexibility to manage your own diary and can divide your time between the Treorchy branch, the Cardiff support hub and working from home.

Key responsibilities

• Providing suitable and compliant protection advice to new and existing customers
• Conducting comprehensive protection fact-finds and needs assessments
• Advising on appropriate life insurance, critical illness and income protection solutions
• Following up protection referrals generated by the mortgage team
• Reviewing the established client bank to identify customers with unmet or changing protection needs
• Explaining policy benefits, exclusions and costs clearly
• Managing protection applications through underwriting to policy commencement
• Liaising with insurers and customers to progress applications efficiently
• Maintaining accurate customer and compliance records
• Developing long-term relationships that generate repeat business and referrals
• Responding promptly to walk-in, telephone and online enquiries
• Delivering sensitive, professional and customer-focused advice

• Have previous experience providing regulated protection advice
• Hold the relevant qualifications, permissions or competent adviser status
• Have a strong understanding of life insurance, critical illness cover and income protection
• Can confidently convert mortgage-related protection referrals
• Are comfortable reviewing and developing an established client bank
• Communicate sensitive financial matters clearly and professionally
• Have an entrepreneurial and commercially focused mindset
• Are self-motivated and capable of managing their own diary
• Deliver consistently high standards of customer service and compliance
