An established and growing accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced Audit Manager to take ownership of a varied client portfolio and play an important role in delivering high-quality audit work.
This is a client-facing position suited to someone who combines strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness and enjoys building trusted relationships. Based in Cardiff, you will have the opportunity to manage audits from planning through to completion, while supporting and developing junior team members.
The Audit Manager will also have scope to contribute to business development, identify opportunities with existing and prospective clients, and help shape the continued growth of the practice.
Managing a diverse portfolio of audit clients, from smaller businesses through to larger organisations
Planning, overseeing and reviewing audit assignments from start to finish
Ensuring work is delivered within agreed timescales, budgets and professional standards
Reviewing audit files and maintaining a high level of technical accuracy
Building strong relationships with clients and developing a clear understanding of their commercial requirements
Supporting proposals and pitches for prospective clients
Coaching, mentoring and line managing junior members of the team
Keeping up to date with relevant legislation, regulations and accounting standards, including FRS 102
Representing the practice professionally with clients and external contacts
Identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance the service provided to clients
You'll ideally be a qualified ACA or ACCA practice accountant with substantial audit experience and a strong understanding of professional standards.
You should also bring:
Proven experience managing a varied audit portfolio
Previous responsibility for reviewing audit files and overseeing assignments
Experience supervising, mentoring or developing junior team members
Good knowledge of FRS 102 and current audit requirements
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
A commercially aware and client-focused approach
Confident communication and relationship-building skills
Strong IT and general computer skills
A professional, resilient and ambitious attitude
