Are you an experienced Family Solicitor looking for your next opportunity with a progressive and people-focused law firm?
We're working with an established and growing legal practice with offices across South Wales, who are looking to strengthen their Family team with an experienced Family Solicitor.
The preference is for someone to be based in Cardiff or Swansea, although applications will also be considered from other Welsh offices.
This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team where you'll have the autonomy to manage your own caseload, develop your expertise and build long-term client relationships.
The Role
You'll handle a varied Family caseload, providing clear, practical advice to clients through what can often be some of the most challenging periods of their lives.
Public Law experience would be welcomed, particularly experience of care proceedings, although this is not essential. The firm is happy to consider experienced Family Solicitors from other areas of Family Law who are interested in developing their public law knowledge.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing your own Family Law caseload from instruction through to conclusion.
- Advising clients on a range of Family matters and providing clear, empathetic and practical advice.
- Preparing and drafting legal documentation, statements and court papers.
- Representing clients and attending hearings where appropriate.
- Working closely with counsel, local authorities, CAFCASS and other professionals.
- Ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and in line with regulatory and Legal Aid requirements where applicable.
- Developing strong and lasting relationships with clients and professional contacts.
- Contributing to the continued growth and development of the Family team.
About You
We're keen to hear from Family Solicitors who have:
- 2+ years' PQE in Family Law.
- Experience managing their own caseload.
- Strong client care and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
- Good organisation and case management skills.
- Experience of Legal Aid would be beneficial.
- Public Law / Care experience is desirable, but not essential.
- A willingness to develop your knowledge in areas of Family Law outside your current specialism.
You'll be someone who genuinely enjoys working with clients, takes ownership of their matters and wants to build a long-term career within a supportive team.
What's on offer?
- Hybrid and flexible working.
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Generous annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Career development and progression opportunities.
- Supportive and collaborative working environment.
- Access to a range of employee benefits and rewards.
- The opportunity to join an established and growing Family team.
If you're an experienced Family Solicitor considering your next move, we'd be keen to hear from you.
