User Researcher Contract - Paying between £350 to £450 Per Day, Inside IR35, Based in Cardiff, Hybrid Working, To Start ASAP, 3 Month Contract


Your new role

We're looking for an experienced User Researcher to join a multidisciplinary User Centred Design team, working on the development and improvement of important public facing digital services.
This is a great opportunity to take ownership of user research across both new and existing services, turning customer feedback and research into actionable insight that directly influences service design and delivery.

You'll work alongside user researchers, service and interaction designers, digital specialists, operational teams and subject matter experts, ensuring the voice of the user is at the heart of decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning and delivery of user research across digital and operational services
• Recruit research participants and prepare research plans, discussion guides and supporting materials
• Moderate user research sessions using a range of qualitative research techniques
• Collate and analyse user feedback, identifying themes, behaviours and opportunities for improvement
• Turn research findings and data into clear, actionable insights
• Present findings to stakeholders and help teams develop a deeper understanding of users and their needs
• Work closely with service designers, digital teams and service owners throughout the design and delivery lifecycle
• Ensure user needs and customer insight are represented throughout service design and decision making
• Support journey mapping, co-design, prototyping and usability testing activities
• Champion User Centred Design principles and help build UCD capability across the wider organisation
• Identify opportunities to improve existing services based on research, feedback and customer insight

What you'll need to succeed

• Strong experience delivering end-to-end user research, ideally within digital services
• Experience planning and facilitating qualitative user research
• Strong ability to analyse research and customer feedback and translate findings into actionable recommendations
• Experience communicating research findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• A good understanding of User Centred Design (UCD) and service design principles
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams across digital, operations and business functions
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to work across multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
