Quantity Surveyor – The Company

With an experienced local management team, a strong reputation in the residential sector and continued investment in its people, this is a particularly good opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to develop towards Senior QS level within a stable and growing business.

Quantity Surveyor – The Role

You’ll join an established commercial team, reporting to an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor and taking commercial responsibility for residential new build projects across South Wales.

The role would suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable managing the day-to-day commercial function of a project, but still wants the support and progression available within a structured commercial team.

Responsibilities will include:

• Commercial management of residential new build projects
• Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
• Preparation of monthly CVRs, forecasts and commercial reports
• Managing valuations, variations and change control
• Monitoring project costs against budget
• Managing subcontractor payments and accounts
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
• Working closely with operational teams to maximise project performance
• Maintaining accurate commercial records and reporting
• Supporting Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors where required

Quantity Surveyor – The Person

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous Quantity Surveying experience with a main contractor or residential developer
• Experience working on residential new build projects
• Good knowledge of subcontractor procurement and account management
• Strong commercial awareness and cost-control skills
• The ability to manage their own workload and project responsibilities
• A proactive, organised and collaborative approach
• Ambition to develop towards Senior Quantity Surveyor level
