Maths Teacher (SEND) - Cardiff

Reed Further Education are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher to join a specialist educational setting in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them develop essential maths skills and confidence for adulthood.

The Role

You will deliver engaging and accessible Maths lessons to learners with a range of SEND needs, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles and abilities. Working closely with support staff and the wider curriculum team, you will create a positive and inclusive learning environment that enables all learners to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality Maths lessons tailored to learners with SEND.
• Differentiate teaching materials and approaches to support individual learning needs.
• Assess, monitor and record learner progress, setting achievable targets.
• Promote learner engagement, confidence and independence.
• Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, therapists and wider multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure safeguarding and wellbeing remain at the heart of all teaching practice.

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Maths within Further Education, Secondary Education or Specialist SEND settings.
• Experience working with learners with Autism, ADHD, SEMH or associated learning difficulties.

All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
