Aspire People are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic and innovative Teachers to join a specialist school in Cardiff supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
The school supports pupils aged 3-19 with autism and/or profound and complex needs, providing a highly personalised, pupil-centred learning environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ALN Teacher, Special Educational Needs Teacher or a mainstream teacher looking to develop their career within specialist education.
Previous ALN or special school experience is highly beneficial but not essential. The school offers a strong induction, mentoring and professional development programme, making this an excellent opportunity for teachers who are passionate about developing their practice.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
Planning and delivering high-quality, pupil-centred learning
Supporting pupils with autism, ALN and complex needs
Adapting teaching and learning to individual needs and abilities
Developing pupils' communication, independence and life skills
Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
Working closely with Teaching Assistants and wider support teams
Building positive relationships with pupils and their families
Monitoring progress and contributing to individual learning plans
Using appropriate strategies to support communication, engagement and behaviour
Working collaboratively with colleagues across the specialist school setting
We're Looking For
QTS or relevant teaching qualification
Passion for working with pupils with ALN and additional needs
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A patient, creative and adaptable approach to teaching
Commitment to pupil-centred learning
Experience working with autism, complex needs or within a specialist setting is desirable
Mainstream teaching experience will also be considered
EWC registration or willingness to obtain
Enhanced DBS for Children on the DBS Update Service
