Location: Cardiff

Salary: £40,000-£55,000, depending on experience and seniority

Working pattern: Primarily office-based with flexible/agile working available

The Opportunity

An established and growing professional services organisation is looking for an experienced Account Manager / Accounting Manager to join its Outsourced Business Services team in Cardiff.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of clients, lead a small team, and play a key role in delivering high-quality outsourced finance solutions.

You will oversee the delivery of management accounts, statutory financial statements and day-to-day finance support, while building strong client relationships and ensuring work is delivered accurately, efficiently, on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a diverse portfolio of moderately complex clients, with minimal supervision.

Oversee a small team delivering outsourced finance functions across approximately 30-40 clients.

Ensure the timely and accurate production of management accounts and year-end statutory financial statements.

Act as a key point of contact for clients, leading meetings and developing long-term, trusted relationships.

Take responsibility for financial performance, including WIP, debt, billing, recoveries and budgets.

Manage and resolve day-to-day client queries and provide proactive financial support.

Mentor, coach and support junior team members, contributing to their development and progression.

Work closely with audit and corporate tax teams to provide a joined-up service to clients.

Identify opportunities for business development, including leads, cross-selling and proposals.

Contribute to process improvements and the introduction of technology and more efficient ways of working.

Potentially take responsibility for the training and development of one or more trainees or team members.

About You

We're looking for an experienced accounting professional who is confident dealing with clients, managing workloads and supporting a team.

You will ideally have:

AAT, ACA or ACCA qualification, or be AAT qualified with relevant experience.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple client deadlines.
