Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Support Worker role based in Cardiff. The Support Worker will provide day-to-day care and support for individuals with complex mental health needs, personality disorders, autism, and other specialist needs, following personalised care plans. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, supporting therapeutic and educational programs, and encouraging service users to engage with treatment and rehabilitation. The role involves monitoring wellbeing, documenting observations, reporting concerns, and ensuring safeguarding and safety at all times. The Support Worker will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, contribute to a positive and respectful environment, and help service users build confidence, life skills, and greater self-responsibility.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess Support Worker experience or similar care/support roles, with an understanding of mental health and specialist care needs.
  • Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills, including empathy, patience, and the ability to build trusting, professional relationships.
  • Candidates should possess Safeguarding knowledge, including awareness of policies, procedures, and best practices for protecting vulnerable individuals.
  • Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, and accurate record-keeping.
  • Candidates should possess basic Technical Support and IT skills, such as using electronic care systems, documentation tools, and communication platforms.
  • Relevant care qualifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care) or equivalent experience are beneficial.
  • Ability to work flexibly in a team, follow clinical guidance, and maintain professional boundaries is essential.
  • A commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and person-centered care is required.
