A leading organisation with a substantial and ambitious capital investment programme is seeking a Decarbonisation Project Manager to drive the delivery of sustainability and carbon reduction projects across a diverse property portfolio.
The organisation has committed significant investment towards achieving net-zero objectives and improving the performance of its estate. This role will play a key part in developing and delivering projects that contribute to long-term environmental targets whilst creating modern, energy-efficient spaces. The opportunity is aligned with the types of estate decarbonisation programmes involving heat decarbonisation, renewable energy technologies, estate electrification and energy efficiency improvements identified within your recent project documentation.
Your new role
You will act as the client-side lead across a range of decarbonisation and sustainability projects from inception through to completion.
Typical projects may include:
- Solar PV installations
- Air Source Heat Pumps
- Heat Decarbonisation Programmes
- Estate Electrification Projects
- Building Fabric Improvements
- Energy Reduction Initiatives
- Battery Storage Solutions
- Infrastructure Upgrades Supporting Net Zero Targets
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing projects through feasibility, design, procurement, delivery and handover.
- Developing business cases and investment proposals.
- Managing budgets, programmes, risk registers and governance requirements.
- Leading multidisciplinary consultant teams and contractors.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with CDM and statutory requirements.
- Monitoring project performance and carbon reduction outcomes.
- Reporting progress to senior leadership and project boards.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience delivering decarbonisation, sustainability, M&E or energy-focused capital projects.
- Strong client-side or consultancy project management experience.
- Knowledge of renewable technologies and low-carbon infrastructure.
- Experience managing external consultants and contractors.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Understanding of procurement and contract management principles.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction, Engineering, Surveying or Project Management.
Professional membership through APM, CIOB, RICS, CIBSE or similar would be advantageous but not essential.
