Student Services Administrator (Higher Education)
Location: On-Site - Cardiff
Hours: Full-Time - 35 hours
Salary: £15.40 an hour
We are seeking a highly organised and customer-focused Student Services Administrator to join a busy Higher Education environment. Working as part of a collaborative Student Services team, you will provide administrative support to students, academic staff, and professional services colleagues, helping to deliver an excellent student experience.
This role is ideal for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing complex enquiries, maintaining accurate records, and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a key point of contact for students, staff, and external stakeholders, providing advice and administrative support.
- Manage and resolve a range of enquiries, escalating more complex matters where required.
- Maintain accurate student and programme records, ensuring compliance and data quality.
- Produce communications, reports, and documentation for staff and students.
- Organise meetings, events, and committees, including agendas and minutes.
- Support attendance monitoring, examinations, assessments, and results processing.
- Process marks and grades, ensuring accurate transfer of information between systems.
- Assist with course administration, programme documentation, and virtual learning environments.
- Analyse and validate data, identify trends, and support decision-making.
- Build effective working relationships across departments to ensure a high-quality service.
- Contribute to process improvements and support wider Student Services activities as required.
About You
- Previous experience in an administrative role within a busy office environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong IT skills, including experience using databases, spreadsheets, and administrative systems.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience managing records, data, and quality checking processes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Ability to use initiative, solve problems, and work independently.
- Experience building positive relationships with a range of stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience within Higher Education, Student Services, or a similar educational setting.
- Knowledge of student records systems, assessments, or virtual learning environments.
