Finance Assistant - #2169983

Hays are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join a successful and growing technology business based in Cardiff on a temp-to-perm basis.
This is a broad finance role offering considerably more exposure than a traditional transactional Finance Assistant position. You'll work closely with the wider finance team, supporting management accounts, VAT and month-end activity alongside the day-to-day running of the finance function.
The position would suit someone looking to take the next step in their finance career and gain further exposure to management accounting.
Your new role

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Supporting month-end close
• Preparing and posting journals, accruals and prepayments
• Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting the preparation and submission of VAT returns
• Bank and control account reconciliations
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable where required
• Assisting with cash flow reporting and forecasting
• Preparing financial reports and analysis for the wider business
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Supporting the finance team with year-end and audit requirements
• Assisting with ad-hoc finance projects

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience working within a busy finance function
• Some exposure to management accounts and month-end processes
• Understanding of VAT and financial reconciliations
• Good Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working in different areas of finance
• AAT qualified, studying towards AAT/ACCA/CIMA, or qualified by experience would be considered
• Available at relatively short notice
