Hays is working with an established Building Services consultancy that is continuing to grow its Cardiff operation. The local team currently consists of approximately 14 professionals, with further growth planned.
The business has a strong presence across the public sector, delivering projects within healthcare, education, universities and colleges, Welsh Government, leisure and heritage.
Your new role
You will join the team as a Mechanical Design Engineer, with the opportunity to take ownership of projects and work with a good level of autonomy.
You will be involved in mechanical building services design through the RIBA stages to approximately Stage 4/4a, producing detailed designs before projects progress to contractor-led full design.
The technical environment includes Revit/BIM, Hevacomp and Amtech, alongside internal calculation tools and support from a dedicated CAD team.
What you'll need to succeed
The role would particularly suit an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong building services background who is comfortable managing and running projects independently.
Experience across healthcare, education or wider public-sector projects would align particularly well with the consultancy's current portfolio.
What you'll get in return
£40,000 - £60,000 salary, dependent on experience and project backgroundHybrid working
