Head of Finance

Salary: £30,000 – £45,000 per annum

Location: Cardiff

Monday – Thursday 8am -5pm and Friday 8am – 4pm

We are looking for an experienced, commercially minded Head of Finance to join an established and growing business in Cardiff.

This is a key senior position offering a varied, hands-on role with responsibility for overseeing the finance function across multiple business areas. Working closely with senior management and the board, you will play an important part in driving financial performance, improving processes and supporting future business growth.



Main Duties

• Oversee the day-to-day finance function across the business.
  
  
• Prepare and present monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  
  
• Manage budgets, forecasts and cash flow.
  
  
• Monitor profitability, financial performance and working capital.
  
  
• Maintain strong financial controls, processes and procedures.
  
  
• Provide financial analysis and commercial advice to support business decisions.
  
  
• Present financial information and updates directly to board members.
  
  
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and control costs.
  
  
• Support business planning and future growth.
  
  
• Lead, manage and develop the finance team.
  
  

About You

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on finance professional who combines strong accounting knowledge with excellent commercial awareness.



Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience in a senior finance position.
  
  
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
  
  
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
  
  
• Experience overseeing finances across multiple businesses or group entities.
  
  
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  
  
• The ability to communicate financial information confidently to non-finance professionals.
  
  
• Strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach.
  
  
• The confidence to take ownership and drive improvements.
