Class 2 Driver - #2188067

Streamline Recruitment is recruiting a Class 2 driver to operate a 32-tonne jet vac in Cardiff for a leading environmental waste management company. You will work alongside an experienced tanker operative who will support you with on-site duties and equipment operation.

• Pay: £19.00 per hour (Ltd or Umbrella, IR35 exempt).

• Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, with some weekend work.

• Typical hours: Approximately 06:00–17:00, with a minimum of 10 hours’ pay guaranteed per shift.

• Site credentials: Valid CSCS / EUSR credentials are beneficial but not mandatory.

The role

• Drive and operate a 32-tonne jet vac, working alongside an experienced tanker operative.

• Carry out jetting and vacuum tanker duties, with full training provided.

• Handle hoses, pipes and tanker equipment safely during operations, loading and discharge.

• Complete vehicle checks and use a tablet to receive work tickets, record defects and report issues.

• Maintain accurate drivers’ hours records using  logbooks.

Essential requirements

• Full LGV Class 2 (Category C) licence with at least six months’ driving experience and no more than six penalty points.

• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.

• Good knowledge of GB Domestic and EU drivers’ hours rules and the Working Time Directive.

• Ability to handle tanker equipment, use tablet-based reporting systems and communicate professionally with clients and the public.

• Willingness to work occasional weekends.

Training and opportunities

Previous vacuum tanker or wastewater industry experience and valid CSCS / EUSR credentials are desirable but not essential. The role offers consistent, full-time work, opportunities for additional hours at enhanced rates and training towards qualifications in jetting, confined spaces and traffic management. There is also potential to progress into a permanent position.
