Senior Data Warehouse Developer | Remote Working | Up to £40,000

An excellent job opportunity has arisen for a Senior Data Warehouse Developer to join a highly established and growing organisation based in Carmarthen.

Your new role and experience requirements

  • To provide technical expertise in developing a coherent Information architecture, standardising data/tools translating business requirements to technical specifications, by combining detailed BI knowledge of data and systems to provide and develop accurate and meaningful business intelligence.
  • To maintain and monitor the Data Warehouse ensuring high availability for end users and analysts and continued development.
  • Carry out specialist data warehouse functions including data analysis, modelling, and extractions.

  • Design, code, test and implement efficient and robust database schemas plus SQL Queries, Views, Stored Procedures, Triggers and dashboards as part of Business Intelligence development.
  • Act as a technical expert to users both within the department and to other departments around the organisation in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS) and general data warehousing architectures
  • Create new information extraction and analysis systems that will improve the efficiency of the Health Board deploying skills in database tools such as Access and SQL.
  • To work on specific Informatics development projects as agreed with the Information Development Manager utilising Oracle SQL, MS SQL Server and Business Intelligence tools ensuring proposed solutions are both effective and efficient.
  • Responsible for the management, development and maintenance of a robust and effective Data warehouse system used for data validation and formatting, reporting on and presenting information across the Health Board and elsewhere.
  • Discuss requirements with the Information Development Manager and users to create agreed system specification requirements before commencing developments.
  • Responsibility for the design and development of all future system modules to be included in the Data Warehouse and manipulation of the relevant data sets to agreed system specifications.
  • Responsible for the loading of data sets into the Data Warehouse from Clinical & Non-Clinical systems.
  • Design and run strict quality checks and validation on the data sets before final release into the Data Warehouse, working closely with the key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the testing and assurance of all new developments. This includes new tables, data items, data structures, ETL processes, functionalities and architecture within the Health Board's Data Warehouse.
  • Maintain robust change management procedures for the data warehouse and document sources and logic used to build data warehouse structures.
  • To write documentation for the developed systems for LHB users of these and to propose changes to the services offered by these in response to user feedback.
