6-12 month contract, hybrid (minimum 2 days/week in-office, starting with 3 days to onboard with the team)

About the Role:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Coastal Engineer to lead and deliver high-profile coastal engineering solutions as part of critical infrastructure programmes in the UK. This role involves hands-on technical design, project delivery, and the opportunity to work on iconic projects both nationally and internationally.

About the Client:

Our client is a renowned consultancy working across multiple sectors including Water, Defence, Energy, Cities & Development. They are known for innovative, industry-leading solutions that cover the full project lifecycle - from concept to construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team to deliver high-quality technical coastal design work.

  • Develop briefs, scopes of work, and contribute to bid proposals.

  • Manage project timelines and budgets effectively.

  • Collaborate with national and international teams for integrated design delivery.

  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance and design standards.

What Our Client is Looking For:

  • Chartered Civil Engineer (essential).

  • Strong background in multidisciplinary design delivery.

  • In-depth knowledge of ocean waves, tidal theory, wave processes, and sediment transport.

  • Proven experience designing coastal structures such as sea walls, revetments, flood defences, and breakwaters, in line with BS6349, EurOtop, and other relevant standards.

  • Skilled in using and directing numerical modelling for wave, tidal and hydrodynamic simulations.
