Hours: 35 hours per week (including approximately 12 clinical hours on the floor)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Deputy Manager to join a purpose-built 31-bed nursing service supporting individuals with physical disabilities and complex health conditions. Based in a peaceful residential area of Radyr, Cardiff, the service is committed to delivering person-centred, high-quality care.
Reporting directly to the Registered Manager, the Clinical Deputy Manager plays a key role in clinical coordination, staff leadership, and maintaining high standards across the service. This position supports the delivery of care that promotes wellness, happiness, and kindness, working in collaboration with families, GPs, and community professionals.
Main Responsibilities of the Clinical Deputy Manager:
- Support the Service Manager in leading the team to deliver safe, effective, and person-centred care
- Co-ordinate and supervise the nursing team to uphold dignity, privacy, safety, independence, and equality
- Maintain full compliance with regulatory requirements at all times
- Oversee daily operations of the nursing units and liaise effectively with external healthcare professionals
- Provide strong clinical leadership and ensure infection control protocols are implemented and audited effectively
Leadership Duties:
- Act as a visible and approachable leader for all employees
- Monitor and maintain high standards of nursing and care delivery
- Manage the admissions and discharges process in line with contracts and clinical needs
- Support recruitment efforts and ensure new staff are fully inducted and reviewed during probation
- Supervise and appraise team members, ensuring mentoring and performance development is in place
- Handle feedback, complaints, and suggestions promptly and professionally
- Help foster a positive workplace culture and sustain team engagement
- Provide operational leadership in the absence of the Service Manager, escalating issues as needed
The Ideal Candidate:
- NMC-registered Nurse with a valid PIN
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead, or Senior Nurse
- Strong background in supporting individuals with physical disabilities
- Demonstrated commitment to person-centred care
- Skilled in developing individual care plans to enhance quality of life
- Ability to lead by example and deliver consistently high standards of clinical care
