Job Title: Senior Financial Crime Associate (6-month FTC)
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 FTE and benefits

The main purpose of the role is to support the Financial Crime team, providing expert oversight, feedback and advice to business areas.

The Senior Financial Crime Associate will work collaboratively alongside a small but integral 2nd line financial crime team whilst also operating on their own initiative to provide support to the business and ensure an effective policy framework.
Your Impact: Building a greener tomorrow
As Senior Financial Crime Associate at Tandem your focus will be on:
- Supporting the first line of defence with any financial crime escalations.
- Horizon scanning, collating upcoming changes and assessing the potential impact.
- Liaising with key stakeholders and providing guidance upon request.
- Producing reports that are suitable for senior management and committees including monthly horizon scanning updates for the Executive Risk Committee.
- Assisting with assurance reviews if required and identifying gaps or weaknesses in existing controls.
- Maintaining accurate records of all financial crime second line advice given.
- Ensuring financial crime policies are up to date and reflect any new regulatory changes and standards.
- Following industry reports, FCA publications, fines, etc, and completing a gap analysis to understand the impact on Tandem and where improvements may be necessary.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Good knowledge of financial crime prevention controls within a banking/financial services environment.
- Demonstrable competence within the following areas:
- Understanding of the MLRs, FATF and JMLSG
- Suspicious Activity Reporting (investigating)
- Horizon scanning and advisory duties
- People skills; this will be at all levels of the business with the ability to communicate complex regulation in an engaging and practical manner.
It would be great, but not essential if you have :
- Customer Due Diligence and best practices.
- Conducting assurance work on Financial Crime controls.
- Providing advice on new products and developments, including mergers, acquisitions and other 3rd party deals.
- Key financial crime systems such as transaction monitoring, screening, KYC/CDD and risk assessments.
