About the Production Manager role

Working with the General Manager, you'll ensure production priorities are maintained while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the factory. You'll lead by example, ensuring output, safety, quality, and team performance all meet high internal and client standards.

Key duties as the Production Manager

  • Supervising and monitoring operatives - quality, productivity, and conduct.
  • Supporting production planning and preparing materials for next-day site installations.
  • Managing and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Writing Method Statements, Risk Assessments, COSHH, HAVS assessments, and Inspection Test Plans.
  • Maintaining the training matrix and ensuring appropriate certification coverage for the site team.
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding sub-standard materials and checking supplier invoices for discrepancies.
  • Ordering welding consumables, engineering supplies, fasteners, and other workshop essentials.
  • Calculating and measuring materials for powder coating to ensure accurate costing.
  • Overseeing maintenance, fault diagnostics, and servicing of machinery and vehicles (including forklift trucks).
  • Coordinating with the training provider on apprentice progress.
  • Staying on top of PAT testing and workshop safety compliance.

What you will need to apply for the Production Manager position.

  • Proven experience in a welding/fabrication environment.
  • Strong leadership and continuous improvement skills.
  • Good working knowledge of health and safety.
  • Good general IT skills.

Competitive salary, depending on experience.

Hours of work

41 hours per week - flexible (typically 7:30 am-5:30 pm Mon-Thurs, 7:30 am-12:30 pm Fri).
