As our Senior Technical Writer, you’ll support HID’s success by:  

·         Work with Engineering, Product Management, Product Marketing, and Technical Support to effectively produce customer facing product documentation to meet the needs of the target audience within agreed timescales.

·         Obtain technical documentation approval from relevant stakeholders prior to release of documents, online help, training presentations or other media.

·         Practice accepted hardware and software technical writing styles, following company Style Guides as well as established branding guidelines.

·         Ongoing maintenance of existing documentation to support new releases.

·         Provide regular updates on project status and progress against plan to project team and corporate management. Proactively identify potential project risks together with proposed mitigation plans.

·         Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Your Experience and Background include:  

·         Bachelor of Science degree preferably in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·         5+ years experience in creating technical documentation.

·         Broad range of experience encompassing computer hardware and software, GUIs, API device drivers, configuration and operation of hardware/firmware integration, and associated software applications.

·         Knowledge of biometric products and technologies a plus.

·         Strong organizational skills.

·         Illustrations and graphics experience a plus.

·         Effective communication skills (oral, written, and presentation).

·         Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.

·         MadCap Flare

·         Affinity software (Designer / Photo / Publisher)

·         Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign / Illustrator / Photoshop)

·         Adobe Acrobat

·         Familiar with Windows operating systems, Linux a plus
