We are looking for a qualified accountant for a part time role with a great team.

ROLE OVERVIEW: The post-holder will have a key role in supporting the organisation to remain financially sustainable and maintain excellent financial governance and management.

Purpose Of Role

  • Be responsible for the organisation's finance systems and procedures ensuring that they are effective, efficient and meet legislative and best practice requirements.
  • Ensure the organisation is fully compliant with statutory requirements and that there is strong and effective governance and financial control embedded throughout the organisation.
  • Be responsible for managing the organisation's strategic and operational risks relating to Finance
  • Attend the Senior Leadership Team meeting and Audit and Risk Assurance Committee to provide verbal and written reports.
  • Work with the Senior Leadership Team to develop a medium and long-term financial strategy that supports the organisation's Strategic Plan.
  • Provide timely information to budget holders through regular meetings and in a format that enables them to monitor and control their budgets effectively
  • Provide advice and support in identifying opportunities to achieve greater efficiency in financial management and monitoring.
  • Be responsible for the preparation of the statutory Annual Report and Accounts and for managing all aspects of the audit process to the agreed deadlines.
  • Prepare the organisation's indicative annual budget request and formal annual budget submission.
  • Be responsible for the development and submission of requests for funding.
  • Be responsible for high-quality responses to requests.
  • Develop the cyclical internal audit plan with the internal auditors, ensuring that plans are robust and provide appropriate coverage across the Risk Register.
  • Be responsible for processing payroll, pensions, travel and subsistence claims and payments to suppliers.
  • Develop and be responsible for the procurement processes ensuring that they are compliant, effective and robust and that they are adhered to by all staff.
  • Develop and maintain constructive relationships with colleagues, Audit and Risk Assurance Committee members, and external stakeholders.
