Accounts Senior

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience)

An established and growing accountancy practice is looking to appoint a Senior Accountant to join it's team in Cardiff.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional who enjoys working closely with clients, preparing accounts and management information, and supporting junior team members. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a high-quality service to a varied client portfolio while working within a collaborative and supportive environment.


The Role

You will be responsible for preparing statutory and management accounts, overseeing bookkeeping activities, and supporting clients with their day-to-day accounting requirements. Working closely with managers and clients, you will ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently while maintaining strong client relationships.


Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of statutory accounts, consolidations and associated reports for a varied client portfolio

• Oversight of bookkeeping activities and maintenance of accounting records

• Preparation and submission of VAT returns

• Supporting clients with accounting software and cloud-based systems

• Assisting with ad hoc projects, including software migrations, reporting improvements and backlog accounting work

• Building and maintaining strong client relationships

• Supervising and mentoring junior members of the team


The Ideal Candidate:

• ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified or actively studying

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment

• Strong bookkeeping and accounts preparation experience

• Experience using cloud-based accounting software, including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Ability to manage workloads effectively and work both independently and as part of a team
