Yolk Recruitment is exclusively managing the recruitment of a Project Controller to join an established engineering business in Cardiff, working on major, long-term engineering projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Coordinator, Project Controller, Project Administrator or recent graduate with project management experience and an engineering or manufacturing background to develop their project management career within a growing operation.
This is what you'll be doing as Project Controller
You'll work alongside experienced project and engineering colleagues, with time to learn the products, contracts and internal processes before progressively taking ownership. You'll have responsibility for keeping projects moving day-to-day, coordinating activity across engineering, production, purchasing, quality, planning and finance, while ensuring project requirements, milestones and contractual deliverables are met. You'll gain exposure to complex, high profile engineering projects and have the opportunity to build broader project management experience as your responsibilities and the team continues to grow.

- Coordinate activity across engineering, production, purchasing, quality, planning and finance.
- Liaise with purchasing to ensure materials and subcontractor requirements are ordered and delivered on time.
- Expedite outstanding orders and work with operations teams to keep project activity moving.
- Liaise with planning to ensure production schedules support project delivery requirements.
- Work with Quality to ensure contractual and project requirements are being met.
- Support project purchasing and monitor the progress of materials and subcontracted work.
- Ensure milestone paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
- Contribute to contract reviews and ensure project plans and activities reflect contractual requirements.
- Participate in customer meetings and support customer communication where required.
- Provide project updates and communicate progress, risks, issues and actions to relevant stakeholders.
- Develop a strong understanding of the products, manufacturing processes and project requirements to improve project control and delivery.
This is what you'll need as Project Controller
- Experience supporting or coordinating projects, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment, or relevant project management experience gained through university, placements or internships.
- Strong Excel skills, with experience working with project data, schedules and documentation. Microsoft Project experience would be advantageous but isn't essential.

- A proactive approach, with the confidence to take ownership, follow up actions and resolve issues to keep projects moving.
