Part-Time Finance Manager

We are delighted to be supporting a successful and growing Cardiff-based business in the appointment of a Part-Time Finance Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys being hands-on with the numbers while also acting as a commercial partner to the wider business. The role will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function whilst working closely with senior stakeholders to provide insight, challenge and support around business performance and future strategy.

The Role

Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in ensuring the business has accurate, timely and meaningful financial information to support decision making.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the month-end process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
• Preparing monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
• Providing meaningful financial analysis and insight to senior stakeholders
• Acting as a finance business partner to operational and commercial teams
• Supporting the leadership team with strategic planning and decision making
• Identifying trends, risks and opportunities within the financial performance of the business
• Improving financial processes, controls and reporting where required
• Providing greater visibility around profitability, costs and business performance
• Supporting longer-term business planning and strategic projects
• Ensuring the finance function continues to provide a strong platform for the business as it grows

About You

We are looking for a qualified or highly experienced finance professional who can combine strong technical accounting knowledge with a commercial mindset.

You'll ideally have experience across:

• Management accounts and month-end
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Financial analysis and reporting
• Finance business partnering
• Cash flow and working capital
• Supporting senior leadership with commercial decision making
• Improving processes and financial controls
• Working within an SME or growing business environment

Most importantly, you'll be someone who is comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting into the detail, but who can also step back and look at the wider commercial picture.
