We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join an established and growing contractor delivering supermarket and retail fit-out projects across Cardiff and South Wales.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager who has a background in supermarket, retail, commercial fit-out or refurbishment and is looking to join a business with a strong pipeline of projects.

You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to a high standard.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Managing the day-to-day running of the site.

• Coordinating subcontractors, trades and site personnel.

• Managing site logistics, deliveries and materials.

• Ensuring projects remain on programme.

• Coordinating multiple trades and specialist contractors.

• Reading and working from construction drawings and specifications.

• Maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship.

• Leading site inductions, toolbox talks and daily briefings.

• Ensuring RAMS and health & safety procedures are followed.

• Liaising with the Project Manager, Contracts Manager, client and subcontractors.

• Monitoring progress and reporting against programme.

• Managing snagging, defects and project handover.

• Maintaining accurate site records and project documentation.

About You

We are looking for a hands-on, organised and proactive Site Manager with a proven track record of delivering construction or fit-out projects.

You will ideally have:

• Previous supermarket, retail or commercial fit-out experience.

• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades.

• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing and site management.

• Experience working to tight programmes and deadlines.

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

• A strong understanding of health & safety requirements.

• SMSTS.

• CSCS card.

• First Aid qualification.

• Full UK driving licence.

• Willingness to travel across South Wales and surrounding areas.

Location & Travel

The role will be based around Cardiff and South Wales, with projects potentially covering areas including Newport, Swansea, Bridgend, Barry, Caerphilly and surrounding areas.

Travel and occasional overnight stays may be required depending on project location.

Due to the nature of supermarket fit-out projects, some early starts, late finishes, weekend or night working may occasionally be required to meet project programmes and client deadlines.
