Aspire People are looking for an experienced Estates Officer to support the day-to-day maintenance, facilities and operational requirements of a further education environment.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with estates, facilities, maintenance or trade experience who can work confidently across a busy multi-user environment.
The Role
Carry out and coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities
Identify and report hazards, defects and maintenance issues
Liaise with contractors and colleagues to support operational improvements
Use helpdesk, maintenance and IT systems to manage requests
Support environments undergoing maintenance and building works
Help maintain high standards of health, safety and compliance
Prioritise workload and respond effectively to operational requirements
Essential Requirements
Level 2 trade qualification and/or relevant estates, facilities or maintenance experience
Experience delivering maintenance in a multi-user environment
Experience working with contractors and external suppliers
Experience working in environments undergoing maintenance or building works
Experience using IT systems, email, helpdesk and maintenance software
Experience working with children and/or vulnerable adults
Knowledge of health and safety, including fire safety, manual handling and COSHH, or willingness to train
Strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion
Current UK driving licence with D1 entitlement, or willingness to obtain D1
Desirable
Relevant technical qualification
Experience implementing operational improvements or change
Welsh language skills or willingness to undertake training
Experience in safety, safeguarding or compliance-focused environments
