Finlink Ltd

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in financial services who enjoys working with people, keeping things organised and making sure everything runs smoothly.

We're recruiting for a growing financial services business in Cardiff that's looking for an Onboarding Coordinator to help financial advisers and advice firms join its network.

The role would suit someone with a background in financial services administration, adviser support, compliance or onboarding, who is organised, enjoys dealing with people and is comfortable managing several things at once.

You don't necessarily need to have worked in an onboarding role before, but an understanding of the financial services industry will be important.

The Business

We're working with a well-established and growing financial services group that supports a network of independent financial advisers and mortgage brokers across the UK.

The business has built a strong reputation for providing high-quality support to its members, with experienced teams working across compliance, operations and adviser support.

With continued growth, the business is now looking to appoint an Onboarding Coordinator to join its Cardiff-based Transition Team.

The Role

Working as part of the Transition Team, you'll help manage the process of bringing new financial advisers and advice firms into the network.

There's quite a lot involved in this process, from gathering and checking documentation through to completing regulatory applications and keeping everyone updated on progress.

You'll play an important role in making sure new members have a positive experience, while ensuring everything is completed accurately and in line with regulatory requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Helping financial advisers and advice firms through the onboarding process
  • Reviewing application forms, qualifications, CPD records and other supporting documentation
  • Identifying missing information and following up with advisers to obtain what's needed
  • Coordinating adviser competency assessments and tracking their completion
  • Requesting and reviewing employment and regulatory references
  • Preparing and submitting regulatory applications through FCA Connect
  • Maintaining accurate onboarding records, trackers and case notes
  • Keeping advisers, business development managers and internal teams updated on progress
  • Working with colleagues to resolve queries and keep applications moving forward
  • Supporting wider onboarding, due diligence and administrative activities

It's a varied role where you'll be dealing with different people, managing multiple applications and helping ensure each new adviser or firm moves through the process as smoothly as possible.

The Person

We're looking for someone who already has experience working within financial services and understands the importance of accuracy, good organisation and following the right processes.

You might currently work in IFA administration, adviser support, compliance administration, financial services operations or a similar role.

Ideally, you'll be someone who:

  • Has previous experience working within financial services
  • Is organised and comfortable managing several tasks or cases at once
  • Pays close attention to detail, particularly when reviewing documentation
  • Enjoys communicating with people and building good working relationships
  • Is confident speaking with advisers and colleagues over the phone and by email
  • Takes responsibility for following things through and keeping people updated
  • Can work to deadlines and manage changing priorities
  • Is comfortable using Excel, Outlook and other administrative systems
  • Has a positive, proactive approach and enjoys working as part of a team

An understanding of IFA businesses, adviser onboarding, compliance processes or FCA requirements would be particularly useful.

Experience using FCA Connect, CRM systems or reviewing regulatory documentation would also be beneficial, although you don't need to have used every system or carried out every aspect of the role before.

What's important is having a good foundation in financial services, strong organisational skills and the willingness to learn the business's onboarding processes.

What's On Offer

This is an opportunity to join an established and growing financial services business with an experienced and supportive team.

You'll have the chance to build on your existing industry knowledge, develop your understanding of adviser onboarding and regulatory processes, and play an important part in helping new advisers and firms join the network.

Applying

If you have experience in financial services, enjoy working with people and are looking for a varied role where organisation and attention to detail really matter, we'd love to hear from you.

Please apply below and we'll be in touch as soon as possible to discuss the opportunity further.
